Just got back from a great trip to Disneyworld in Orlando, FL in October 2004. We scheduled for Labor Day weekend, but had to cancel due to a hurricane. The picture on the left is Cinderella's Castle (of course) during the evening fireworks show called "Wishes". I had the digital camera set in manual mode with shutter control at 1/10 second. This was the perfect speed to catch the trail of these bright fireworks without too much flare. Shari and I also had a fantastic time at Epcot Center. The picture on the right is sunset over the lake at Epcot near the Japanese village. The "Illuminations" show is the best of any of the Disney parks and is not to be missed. The Japanese village also had the best shop, including unique and reasonably-priced dishware. Parkhopper Passes were also a great deal, letting us visit multiple parks in the same day.
I took this picture at Bushkill Falls in the Poconos in Fall 2003. It was the peak weekend for Fall foliage. We hiked the 2.5 mile Red Trail. There were many steps to climb, but the views of all the waterfalls were worth it. We arrived early before the crowds when the park opened. The water is dark brown from all the leaves upstream. This shot of the Laurel Glen area, just above the main falls, was a perfect capture of the leaves coming down in unique lighting. I used an Olympus Camedia 3000 digital camera in Shutter Mode to capture the leaves.
These are from Hilton Head Island, SC in Summer 2002. Hilton Head is on the Intercoastal Waterway about 30 miles from Savannah, GA. It is known for its golf courses, time shares, and fantastic beaches. On the left is the plaza at Coligney. It is one of the oldest shopping plazas on the island, but they have done a tremendous landscaping job. On the right is the harbor at Shelter Cove. Fireworks are every Tuesday nights during the summer and kayaking on Broad Creek is relaxing.
